No Looking Back!

I have done something I thought I would never be able to do!!! I actually used one of my childhood dolls to turn into a piece of art! I was always so careful with my dolls as a little girl. I was taught by my sweet momma to take good care of them and not get them dirty! Well I have taken care of them for many years, until recently. I have boys and they really have no interest in them. I have sold a few special dolls on Ebay and they were in almost mint condition. I wanted them to go to homes that would have a new appreciation for them. I still have a few dolls left in my collection. I was going through my storage box the other day and came across a doll that hadn't made it to auction yet. You know... I have been buying other peoples dolls to make into art and not using my own. I have a hard time doing that because I can her my mom saying, "Steffi take care of your dolls".

Well, no looking back now, I finally did it and I think it is okay! Mom came by the other day, saw what I did with my doll and said, "Oh Steffi I think that is the cutest thing you've done!" Wow ! That was just the reaction I needed to hear. I will be moving on now... Hope you enjoy a peek at the girls! By the way, today is my Mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom~ I love you!!!

Hmmm...when I was little, I used to cut all my dolls' hair off, and then they were just left with those ugly rows of nubs on their heads! I didn't do it to my Barbies though, just the bigger dolls. I was a strange child! LOL ~Lori

Happiness

The sum of happiness is made up of a thousand details. A little kindness done one less fortunate gives the heart a beat of pleasure that no millinery or laces or jewels can possibly inspire.
To overcome prejudice is more satisfying than a ten-course dinner.
To subdue a difficulty and smother a selfish disire is to become strong and splendid.
If life is worth living at all, it is worth living in a state of progress and improvement.
If we moan and groan, filling the air with dissatisfaction and gloom, we can scarcely hope to partake of much contentment.
All you need is a good thump on the back by some cheerful soul who has faith in you, and promise to yourself that you will face your work and your worries cheerfully,-(Selected)
