The Wizard of Oz Challenge and Invitation

As the New Year begins… I am looking for inspiration. I am inviting you to please join me in revisiting the classic movie the” Wizard of Oz”. I will be posting a list of inspirations from the movie at the beginning of each month. You will have the entire month to complete an original piece of art, post it on your blog and share !!! I know some months will be more difficult than others, so you are allowed to keep it simple!!! I am dreaming of a HUGE participation for this challenge. Mixed media artist, photographers, jewelry or whatever your favorite medium is, I challenge you to create and be an inspiration to us all to try something new! You may want to do something different each month! Just have fun! Please leave a comment at the bottom of this invitation or email me to let me know if you will be joining me! I will create a list on my sidebar for those of you participating. I also encourage you to share this challenge with others! Please grab this image for your blog and post it even if you choose not to participate. You may join in the anytime during the year!!! Just introduce yourself!!! Dreams do come true!!!
For the month of January the theme will be "Dorothy's Dream".

Happiness

The sum of happiness is made up of a thousand details. A little kindness done one less fortunate gives the heart a beat of pleasure that no millinery or laces or jewels can possibly inspire.
To overcome prejudice is more satisfying than a ten-course dinner.
To subdue a difficulty and smother a selfish disire is to become strong and splendid.
If life is worth living at all, it is worth living in a state of progress and improvement.
If we moan and groan, filling the air with dissatisfaction and gloom, we can scarcely hope to partake of much contentment.
All you need is a good thump on the back by some cheerful soul who has faith in you, and promise to yourself that you will face your work and your worries cheerfully,-(Selected)
