Making Changes!

Did you notice my new blog header?  Well , before the year is over I wanted to get a new look going and share some of my new work.  I have been busy taking classes the last few months and learning so much.  I feel like my art has taken a big leap forward.    I started painting faces last year before Thanksgiving with Sharon Thomlinson.  When I look back at my work then and  now I am truly amazed at how far I have come.  I have also discovered that my passion, at this time , is painting. I am not saying that I won't ever make jewelry again ,  I just say right here and now.  This is what i would rather be spending my art time doing. I have also joined some awesome sites like Jane Desrosier & Tamara. So if you are into painting faces and collage these are amazing teachers!  My new header is  a combination of Sharon and Jane's techniques.  Here is my project I've been working on today.  I will show the before and after so that you can see the transformation!  If you are at all interested in this look go over and join in Sharon's classes she is an amazing teacher!
Before painting!

After Skinny Vogue Model with no chest and bow back!

Not only have I been diving into  collage and acrylics, but i am also playing in plaster and hot wax!  So much fun ! This summer I joined in the Plaster workshop with Stephani Lee & Judy Wise , then into Encaustic painting with Judy Wise. Talk about a ton of fun, and so much to learn!  These are amazing classes and top notched teaching!  If you go back to the top of this page and click on encaustics that is were I will be showing some of my new stuff. :)  Also, wanted to mention that the Yahoo groups and face book groups for these classes are another extension of the classes.  The students in the classes are so talented , sharing & caring people that it makes taking these classes that much more enjoyable!

Well,  that  pretty much sums it up for now.  Hope you all have a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Happiness

The sum of happiness is made up of a thousand details. A little kindness done one less fortunate gives the heart a beat of pleasure that no millinery or laces or jewels can possibly inspire.
To overcome prejudice is more satisfying than a ten-course dinner.
To subdue a difficulty and smother a selfish disire is to become strong and splendid.
If life is worth living at all, it is worth living in a state of progress and improvement.
If we moan and groan, filling the air with dissatisfaction and gloom, we can scarcely hope to partake of much contentment.
All you need is a good thump on the back by some cheerful soul who has faith in you, and promise to yourself that you will face your work and your worries cheerfully,-(Selected)
