Playing with Pastels

Oh my I don't know where to begin! :) I can't tell you how inspiring  Misty Mawn class, " Open Studio" is.  It is a year long class jam packed full of  exercises and demos to keep your head spinning for a very, very long time!  I just can't put my pencils and paint brushes down.   I am  learning to push myself to places I never ever thought I could or would go.  There is so much to learn and so little time!  If you think it is too late to join in , I would have to  say "IT IS NOT".   There are so many  levels  of talented artist in class spreading there wings,  posting amazing photos all day long and sharing each others enthusiasm it is truly an inspiring and heart warming !
I mentioned on an earlier post that I would love to show some of my progress along the way , so here are a few photos of some pieces I've been working on since joining this class.    I am totally enjoying myself.:)"
My first journal page prompted by Misty.
My second journal page "I need to face my fears"
My latest journal page is about "Being Mindful".
I have to mention that anything I am showing you show far is not complete,  I am not sure that I will ever go back to them, but I might. :)
I don't want to bore anyone with too much to look at , I could show you alot more cause I have been behaving like a MAD SCIENTIST around here,  or I should say "Artist". Here is a pastel drawing I did yesterday.  She too is not complete, but just a "so far"
I loved using messy pastels!!!

I am getting used to her.

Happiness

The sum of happiness is made up of a thousand details. A little kindness done one less fortunate gives the heart a beat of pleasure that no millinery or laces or jewels can possibly inspire.
To overcome prejudice is more satisfying than a ten-course dinner.
To subdue a difficulty and smother a selfish disire is to become strong and splendid.
If life is worth living at all, it is worth living in a state of progress and improvement.
If we moan and groan, filling the air with dissatisfaction and gloom, we can scarcely hope to partake of much contentment.
All you need is a good thump on the back by some cheerful soul who has faith in you, and promise to yourself that you will face your work and your worries cheerfully,-(Selected)
